The article “Should glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists be withheld during the preoperative period?” by Sneha Mishra, MBBS, Patress A. Persons, MD, and Sophie Bersoux, MD (Cleve Clin J Med 2025; 92(4):209–211, doi:10.3949/ccjm.92a.24110) contained an error. Reference 1 was incorrectly listed as the October 2024 American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) multisociety guidance. The correct source for reference 1 is the 2023 ASA Task Force recommendations, which suggested holding weekly GLP-1 receptor agonists for 1 week before elective procedures and daily agents on the day of the procedure. The October 2024 multisociety guidance no longer recommends routine discontinuation of GLP-1 receptor agonists before anesthesia in most patients. The online article is now correct.
