RT Journal Article SR Electronic T1 Screening for coronary heart disease: Has the time for universal imaging arrived? JF Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine JO Cleve Clin J Med FD Cleveland Clinic SP 645 OP 656 VO 74 IS 9 A1 Michael S. Lauer YR 2007 UL http://www.ccjm.org/content/74/9/645.abstract AB The Screening for Heart Attack Prevention and Education (SHAPE) Task Force has recommended a strategy of screening for coronary heart disease in which nearly all middle-aged and older adults would undergo an imaging test. However, this approach is not supported by evidence and is not endorsed by professional societies or the US Preventive Services Task Force. Physicians should follow established guidelines such as those of the third Adult Treatment Panel of the National Cholesterol Education Program.
