AB  - Severe digitalis toxicity is associated with a high mortality. We present a case of advanced digoxin toxicity successfully treated with digoxin-specific antibody Fab fragments, and discuss its mechanism of action. A review of the pharmacokinetics of digitalis as well as the mechanisms of cardiotoxicity and its conventional treatment is presented.
