AB The epidemiology, clinical presentation, and clinical course of AIDS-related and non-AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma are reviewed and compared. The histopathological features for diagnosis of Kaposi’s sarcoma are described. The authors confirm an earlier report that patients with non-AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma have no HIV antibodies, and recommend serologic HIV testing for all patients with a diagnosis of Kaposi’s sarcoma.
