AB Selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) are a new class of drugs that provide a new option for addressing the health challenges of postmenopausal women. This review discusses the proposed mechanism of action of SERMs and describes clinical findings on raloxifene, a SERM now available for treating and preventing osteoporosis.
