RT Journal Article SR Electronic T1 Sepsis: Menu of new approaches replaces one therapy for all JF Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine JO Cleve Clin J Med FD Cleveland Clinic SP 65 OP 73 VO 69 IS 1 A1 Larosa, Steven P. YR 2002 UL http://www.ccjm.org/content/69/1/65.abstract AB Effective therapies for sepsis are being devised, after many failures. However, instead of a “one therapy for all” approach, management of sepsis will involve a menu of treatments, depending on the presence of inflammatory markers, the severity of disease, and other factors. This article looks at promising new therapies, including recombinant human activated protein C (rhAPC; drotrecogin alfa, Xigris), recently approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
