AB  - The scientific basis for zinc treatment of the common cold is debatable, and clinical trials of zinc cold therapy have produced conflicting results. This review summarizes the current basic and clinical knowledge of zinc for the common cold, and suggests the present role of zinc therapy and future research needs.
