Recent studies suggest that cardiac abnormalities are seen in approximately 75% of patients with polymyositis. The usual manifestations are congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, heart blocks, and electrocardiographic abnormalities. This case report describes the diagnosis and clinical course of cardiac polymyositis in a 57-year-old woman.
