AB Physicians and public health officials need to intensify their efforts to detect and treat high blood pressure, because the incidence of hypertension-related morbidity and mortality has stopped declining, and fewer than 30% of hypertensive patients have their blood pressure under control. The JNC VI report outlines the current standard of care for treating hypertension.
