Infarct size also can be determined from perfusion scintigraphy, assessment of left ventricular dimensions, wall motion disturbances, and other characteristics of the left ventricular wall. Nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, particularly with contrast enhancement, has the greatest potential for accuracy.
