YR 1985 UL http://www.ccjm.org/content/52/2/271.abstract AB Renal osteodystrophy and continual bone pain developed after excision of hyperplastic parathyroid glands in a 51-year-old woman with chronic renal failure. She was found to have osteomalacia associated with aluminum, which was identified at the boundary between mineralized bone and osteoid on biopsy of the iliac crest. Potential use of bone biopsy in such cases is discussed.
