ABSTRACT

Much of the conventional wisdom about the prevalance, causes, diagnosis, symptoms, effects, and treament of mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is changing. MVP has a benign course and excellent prognosis for most patients, with only a small minority developing serious complications.
