ABSTRACT
Better understanding of diabetic nephropathy’s pathophysiology has led to fundamental changes in its management: detecting nephropathy early and intervening with rigorous glycemic control and aggressive management of hypertension may slow its progression. Dietary protein restriction may also have a role.
