ABSTRACT
Therapeutic plasmapheresis has been used increasingly in the treatment of a variety of diseases. Membrank plasma filters have been developed that produce a cell-free and particulate-free plasma ideally suited for on-line plasma treatment systems. Clinical experience with sorbent and filtration techniques for solute removal indicate promising directions for plasma therapy and its role in treating and understanding disease.
