    Hematoxylin and eosin staining of a punch biopsy of a leg lesion in the patient in Figure 1. Hyperkeratosis and superficial epidermal necrosis with prominent pallor and vacuolization can be seen. There is perivascular mixed inflammatory cell infiltrate with lymphocytes and neutrophils but no eosinophils in the dermis.
